简介： Morse and Lewis are probing the death of Laura Poindexter, an American tourist involved in a select tour of Oxford. Her personal belongings, notably her jewelry, including the Wolvercote Tongue she intended to donate to the Ashmolean Museum, are notably absent. The pathologist concludes the cause of death was natural, yet Morse senses an unspoken irregularity. The intrigue intensifies as Theodore Kemp, the Ashmolean's specialist on the Wolvercote Tongue, is discovered lifeless, and Laura's husband vanishes without a trace.
